Environmental Assessment for the
Chief Logan Resort and Recreation Center

For this project, Decota Consulting Company, Inc. conducted an Environmental Assessment (EA) on behalf of the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection Abandoned Mine Land Economic Revitalization (AMLER) Program for the proposed Chief Logan Resort and Recreation Center Project located within Chief Logan State Park in Logan County, West Virginia. The purpose of this EA was to evaluate the potential physical, environmental, cultural, and socioeconomic impacts associated with the development of a multi-use recreational facility designed to promote tourism and economic revitalization in the region. The EA analyzed the environmental consequences of the Proposed Action, which includes construction of a mountain coaster and associated recreational amenities, as well as a No Action alternative for comparison.
