Wetland Delineations

Decota has years of experience conducting wetland delineations in preparation of permitting decisions made by both federal and state regulatory agencies. Decota utilizes USACE’s 1987 Manual for Identifying and Delineating Wetlands and the 2012 Interim Regional Supplement to the USACE Wetland Determination Manual: Eastern Mountains and Piedmont Region while performing these field investigations. Decota staff has extensive experience in the identification of wetland plants, hydric soils, and the hydrological characteristics associated with wetland systems. Understanding and identifying these wetland indicators are crucial as many regulatory decisions and mitigation requirements are based upon their presence or absence.

Decota has also been involved in the development of the West Virginia Wetland Rapid Assessment Method (WVWRAM) with the WVDEP. The WVWRAM is expected to become adopted by regulatory agencies in 2022.
